Translation

As a native speaker of German living in Germany, I provide naturally sounding, idiomatic and accurate translations from English to German. A German source text that is to be published/printed in an English speaking country (e.g. a company brochure or mail order catalogue) should be translated by a native speaker of the required variety of English (British, American, Australian etc.). If the text is mostly for information purposes, however, and/or the target audience speaks English as a second language, I will gladly handle your translation from German into English.

The source text (i.e. the text that needs to be translated) can be provided by e-mail or on CD-ROM / USB storage medium in following formats:

• Microsoft Word (2003 or 2007)
• Microsoft Excel
• Microsoft Powerpoint
• Open Office
• HTML or XML files
• PDF files
• Other formats on request.

Of course you can also send your documents by snail mail or fax. Larger files can be uploaded/downloaded via FTP or through an online service.

Proofreading

Two pairs of eyes are always better than one. If you have a text which has already been translated into German or has been written in German by a non-native speaker, I offer proofreading services to make sure that vocabulary, spelling, punctuation, grammar and style are correct and appropriate.

• IT: mainly internet security, product descriptions for software, etc.
• Marketing: brochures, leaflets, product information, company newsletters, catalogs/catalogues

Prices

Prices vary according to volume, difficulty of the texts, and required formatting. Do not hesitate to ask me for a non-binding estimate. The more detailed the information about the text, the more precisely can I estimate the price. A binding offer can only be made if I have seen the complete source material.
